BACKGROUND
Te-Kworo Foundation (TKF) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) operating in the Acholi Sub-region of Northern Uganda with a vision “To secure a future for African girls,” TKF is dedicated to empowering war-affected women, children, teenage girls, child mothers, and survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) through education, healthcare, child protection, and livelihood programs.
Currently active in five districts—Kitgum, Pader, Omoro, Agago, and Nwoya—TKF has established a range of institutions that drive its mission forward:
Two girls’ secondary schools in Pader and Nwoya
A vocational training institute for teenage girls in Kitgum
A level III health facility in Pader providing care to women and children
The Kworo Guest House & Cottages as a local income-generating project
Mobile medical outreach services in Nwoya, Omoro, and Agago
A maternal hospital under construction in Agago, expected to launch early next year
TKF maintains field offices in Kitgum, Nwoya, and Gulu, with its main office located in Pader Town.
As the organization expands its operations and institutional reach, TKF is seeking a qualified and experienced Finance and Administration Officer to support its growing programs and facilities. Please see the job description below for more information on the role and application process.
FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
Job Title: Finance and Administration Officer

1. Role Summary
The Finance and Administration Officer is responsible for all aspects of the financial management and administration for the Organisation. The Finance and Administration Officer is expected to provide sound financial advice and effective financial management as well as manage the administrative functions of the Fund. This position is a full-time, regular position and reports to and works most closely with the two Co-Directors.
2. Key Responsibilities
a) Financial Management & Oversight
Provide day-to-day leadership, management, and oversight of the Organisation and Hospital finances and whenever necessary the finance team.
Review and consolidate monthly financial reports to ensure accuracy and to provide regular feedback to senior management.
Ensure all financial plans, invoices, reports, and other financial documents and transactions are accurate, timely, and consistent with Te-kworo guidelines and regulations.
b) Budget Management
Prepare and monitor budgets to ascertain that spending occurs as planned and that variances are anticipated, noted, and corrected; ensure that key program personnel are aware of budgetary resources and are able to monitor their budgets respectively.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets, financial statements and reports for review and approval by the Board.
Perform financial review of purchase requests, purchase orders, and payment requests to ensure compliance with Te-kworo’s policies and procedures and the donor’s grants and contracts requirements.
c) Financial Reporting
Prepare and revise finance and operations guidelines in order that they adhere to donor requirements.
Prepare quarterly reports, consolidated annual report, cumulative project report, Budget vs Actuals and any other required donor submissions.
Manage the reporting component of the funds including reconciling timesheets with financial reports; oversee administrative duties as needed.
Prepare and submit statutory financial returns, including tax and audit reports
d) Procurement Coordination
Collaborate with the Procurement Committee to ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
Assist in the preparation of procurement plans, budgets, and documentation.
3. Required Qualifications & Experience
a) Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting or other related field; professional qualification in Accounting is required.
At least 7 years of accounting experience, preferably with an NGO or donor funded projects
b) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proven ability to prepare multi-year budgets, donor financial reports and audits.
Strong analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations.
High level of integrity and confidentiality
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Expert computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Well-organized and process-oriented and with strong attention to detail.
Passion for community development and social impact.
